8th January 2012: Bird watching @ Nilje Lake, Dombivali


Nilje is a small village about 8 kms from Dombivali on Dombivali – SheelPhata- Mumbai Highway. The small village pond hosts the winter migrants. Several water birds like Teals, Brahminy Duck, Pheasant tailed Jacanas, Moorhens can be sited at the pond. The surrounding area is a mixture of cultivated land or dry fallow land and scrub country.

Venue: Nilje Lake, Dombivali
Time: 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
MeetingPoint: Nilje Village.
Charges: Rs. 60/- per head.
How to reach: There is regular bus service from Dombivali Railway Station (East) to Nilje. Alternatively one can take share auto to Nilje.
